My name is Lauren Lawrence and I am a Toronto-based photographer and film maker, serving the Greater Toronto Area. I specialize in Newborn, Maternity, Baby, Children and Family photography, as well as making gorgeous and memorable family films. I truly believe that being a photographer is the most amazing job in the world and love capturing special moments in peoples’ lives!
How did I get started in photography you ask? In October of 2010 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and was determined to capture every waking (and sleeping) moment of her life. I had professional pictures taken of her a couple of times and always thought it would be wonderful to be able to take amazing photos of her on my own. Little did I know that I would love photography as much as I do, and so, I took my hobby to the next level and started taking many classes, workshops and mentoring sessions. I have traveled across the continent to train with some of the most amazing photographers and have enjoyed every minute of it!
After living in Los Angeles, California for eight years, I moved back to my hometown of Toronto, Canada in mid-2013 with my amazing family. I have a wonderful husband and three amazing daughters! I love living close to my friends and family (I’m the oldest of 4 girls!!), being able to walk everywhere, and all the amazing things Toronto has to offer! I love everything about Toronto except the weather – I would be lying if I didn’t admit to missing the California sun!
I do most of my newborn, maternity, cake smash and other prop type photography sessions out of my studio, and typically do family and other lifestyle type sessions on location. Most photographers specialize in either studio photography or lifestyle photography, but what can I say – I like being a master of all trades!
I love: my family and friends, photography, film making, sunshine, traveling, happy people, chocolate, sushi and cuddly little babies.
I dislike: insects, cold weather, beets, bullies and sitting still.
I have heard people say that you’re either born a photographer or you’re not – I was no doubt born a photographer. Classes, workshops and books (of which I have taken and read many) can teach you the technical aspects, but ultimately it is the person behind the lens that captures great pictures.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by my Blogsite and for your interest in my photography!
